PHILTRA aim to create an environment in trail running where people of all backgrounds, abilities, genders, races, and identities can participate, compete, and excel without discrimination or barriers.

PHILTRA shall foster a positive and respectful sports culture that celebrates the uniqueness of each individual and contributes to a more united and accepting society through the following:

Use of Inclusive Language and Communication: Using inclusive language and promoting respectful communication is essential to create a welcoming environment for everyone involved in sports, regardless of their background.

Creating a Supportive Environment: Establishing a supportive and inclusive environment within sports teams and organizations ensures that all athletes feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborating with diverse community organizations and stakeholders helps to create a more inclusive sports ecosystem that benefits everyone involved.

Education and Awareness: Raising awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusivity in sports helps to foster understanding, empathy, and respect among athletes, coaches, officials, and fans.

Our focus:

REPRESENTATION: We shall ensure diverse representation at all levels: 1) grassroots; 2) enthusiasts and 3) elite and professional sports.  There should be opportunities for individuals from underrepresented groups to participate, compete, and lead in sports.

ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITIES:  We shall ensure there are no barriers that could prevent individuals from diverse backgrounds from accessing the sports.  This may involve addressing financial constraints, working with organizers to provide access to underserved communities, and offering access to training programs and resources.

GENDER EQUALITY:  We shall promote gender equality in the sports by providing equal opportunities and resources for both men and women. This includes challenging stereotypes, supporting women's participation and leadership in all aspects of sports.

 ADAPTIVE AND PARA-SPORTS:  We encourage the participation of athletes with disabilities in adaptive and para-sports. It is a commitment to inclusivity and highlights the abilities and talents of athletes of all abilities.

CULTURAL COMPETENCE:  We shall always aim to understand and appreciate the diverse cultural practices and traditions within the sports. This helps to avoid misunderstandings and to create a more inclusive atmosphere.

LGBT++ :  We condemn and address discrimination, racism, homophobia, and other forms of prejudice for members of the LGBT community and ensure their increased participation and representation within the sports organization.
