Members of the Philippine team are selected through an annual selection process that is published in this website and are circulated via email to PHILTRA members. Please visit this link to view the selection process for the 2025 Team.
HELP US SUPPORT THE PHILIPPINE TRAIL RUNNING TEAM
The pioneer PHILTRA National Team was formed in March 2023. Our national team debuted impressively at the 2023 World Mountain & Trail Running Championships, ranking 12th globally and first in Asia (READ STORY HERE). At the SEA Trail Running Cup in June 2024, our athletes emerged as the overall Team Champion for Long Trail (Male), Short Trail (Male and Female) and Mountain Classic (U20). We brought home 5 out of 8 gold medals and a total of 16 medal tally ranking us on top of Southeast Asian countries. READ SEATRC STORY HERE. In October of the same year, at the Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships, the Philippines brought home the gold by John Ray Onifa. The Philippine Team also garnered three silver medals as second overall winner of the Team-Overall, Team-Men's Short Trail and Team-Men's Long Trail. Trail. READ THE APTRC STORY HERE

We're dedicated to improving our global and regional standings, supporting athletes, and excelling in international competitions through training, local events, and continued support. A strong campaign on inclusion of the sports in Brisbane 2032 is happening and when it happens, Philippines will battle for gold. The race starts now but sustainable funding is needed.
